Virtual Offices FAQs
1) What are the things that i should look out for in selecting a virtual office operator?
- Ensure that the company providing the virtual office is doing this as their main business and not a company hoping to make some money as their sideline.
- Ensure that the company is established and committed. A good way to check this will be to see if the company provides service offices as well. Companies that provide service offices are generally more established and credible as they have to put in a higher amount of investment (as opposed to just a small office that some virtual office operators use).
- Check the state of the meeting facilities available. A lot of people overlook this point, either because they can't be bothered or they think they will not be using the facilities. Make sure the meeting room is spacious and well furnished. Nothing can be worse than needing a meeting room to meet an important client and then realising that it is a small makeshift cubicle.
2) I see that some other virtual office providers have free namecards as part of their package. Do you provide free namecards or webhosting services?
At Uber Studio Office, we believe that being focused allows us to provide the best services to our virtual office customers. Our customers is paying us to be efficient and responsive in handling their mail and fax requests and not to provide them with free printing or web hosting services. Printing and web hosting needs for each business is unique and should be assessed by specialised firms in order for the business to be successful.
As such we prefer to let our customers choose their own printers and web hosting providers. However, if you need any recommendation, we will be most happy to pass you our contacts.
We are looking to incorporate more value added corporate service in the near future. However as each of this needs are specialise, we will be charging for these services.
3) Why should i choose Uber Studio Office as my virtual office operator when there are cheaper operators out there?
Uber Studio Office is one of the few budget virtual office operators that runs a service office as well. We are committed to this business and in providing the best service to our customers. Our proximity to Tanjong Pagar MRT (5mins walk) makes us an attractive choice for those looking for a convenient and centralised location. Ample parking is also available around our offices for those who drive to pick up their mails.
4) Is it important for the virtual/service office operators to own the property?
99.9% of virtual/service office operators (including establish premium oprerators) do not own the property they operate out of and there is a reason for that. The financial risk from taking a bank loan to buy a place is high and risk of defaulting is real if the economic/business conditions changes and company can't get enough customers to service the loan. In the event that happens, customer may have to scramble to register for a new address or find new offices in a short period of time.
Operator on lease term have the flexibility to change the location of their premises (if necessary) and setup of their business to suit the business climate. And since operators commit to long term lease of their space, they will usually give ample notice to their customer if the need to change their address arises.
